Disclosure: this page is written by PricePing, one of the apps compared here. We have tried to be fair, to say where other apps are the better choice, and to name our own limits. Facts about other apps come from their own App Store listings and websites, listed under Sources. Prices and features change, so check each app before you subscribe.
The short version
- You mostly shop on Amazon and want years of price history: Keepa, or camelcamelcamel if you prefer email alerts and a website.
- You shop at many different stores, not just Amazon: PricePing (any store page you can share) or ShopSavvy (big retailers, barcode scanning, local stores).
- You mainly want coupons and cashback at checkout: PayPal Honey or Capital One Shopping. Both also watch prices, but it is not their main job.
- You want a simple free Amazon watchlist on your phone: PriceNotify or BigBangPrice.

How we compared them
A price tracker has one job: watch a product and tell you when it gets cheaper. So we looked at the same seven things for each app: what it is, which stores it covers, how you add a product, what it alerts on, whether it shows price history, what it costs, and who it suits. We also name one honest limitation for each. We did not score or rank apps with made-up numbers, and we quote no ratings.
PricePing
PricePing is an iPhone app for tracking prices at almost any online store. You share a product link to it from Safari or any shopping app (or paste the link), choose an alert, and it checks the price for you.
- Stores
- Almost any online store. It has read prices from Amazon, Nike, Zara, Uniqlo, Lululemon, Allbirds, Gymshark, Noon, Namshi and Shopify shops, in the store’s own currency.
- Adding items
- Share a product link from a browser or any app, or paste it.
- Alerts
- Any drop, a drop below your target price, or a percentage drop. It also shows when a product sells out or comes back in stock.
- Price history
- A chart of every price it records from the day you start tracking. It does not backfill the store’s earlier history.
- How often it checks
- Every product is checked at least once a day: our servers check every 12 to 24 hours, and your phone can check more often.
- Price
- Subscription. Personal tracks 20 products for $4.99 a month or $39.99 a year; Power tracks 50 products for $7.99 a month or $59.99 a year (US prices; the App Store shows your local price). Monthly plans start with a 7-day free trial; yearly plans have no trial.
- Best for
- People who shop at many stores, including fashion, sportswear and Shopify brands that Amazon-only trackers can’t see.
- Limitations
- There is no free tier. It is iPhone only for now (Android is in testing). Prices are checked at least once a day, not every second, so alerts are not instant. Price history starts when you add the product.
Keepa
Keepa calls itself the most popular Amazon price tracker, and for Amazon it is the deepest tool here. Its app and browser extension show long price-history charts for Amazon products, along with data that sellers use, such as sales rank and Buy Box history.
- Stores
- Amazon only. Its App Store listing names 11 Amazon marketplaces: the US, Germany, the UK, France, Italy, Spain, Canada, Japan, India, Mexico and Brazil.
- Adding items
- Search Amazon in the app, scan a barcode, or use the browser extension on an Amazon product page.
- Alerts
- When the price drops to your target, or the product is back in stock.
- Price history
- Its strongest feature: charts for new, used and Warehouse Deals prices, going back years for many products.
- Price
- The app is free to download. Keepa also sells a paid subscription for extra data; check Keepa’s site for current pricing.
- Best for
- Amazon shoppers and sellers who want the full price story.
- Limitations
- It only covers Amazon, and the charts carry a lot of seller-oriented data that a casual shopper may not need.

camelcamelcamel
camelcamelcamel is a long-running, free Amazon price tracker. You find a product on its website or with its browser extension, The Camelizer, see the price history chart, and set a “price watch” that emails you when the price reaches your target.
- Stores
- Amazon in eight countries: the US, the UK, Canada, Australia, France, Germany, Italy and Spain.
- Adding items
- Its website, or The Camelizer extension on a desktop browser.
- Alerts
- Email price watches at the price you choose.
- Price history
- Yes, charts for Amazon products.
- Price
- Free account.
- Best for
- Amazon shoppers who are happy with email alerts and a website.
- Limitations
- Amazon only. Its own page says The Camelizer is not available for mobile browsers, and we did not find an official camelcamelcamel app in the US App Store, so on iPhone you use the website.

ShopSavvy
ShopSavvy is a free price comparison app for iPhone and Android. It looks a product up across many stores at once, online and nearby, and can watch it for a lower price.
- Stores
- It says it compares prices from tens of thousands of retailers, including Amazon, Walmart, Best Buy, Target and eBay, with coverage strongest in the US.
- Adding items
- Scan a barcode, search, share a product from another app, or turn on its Safari extension.
- Alerts
- A notification or email when a re-check finds a lower price, your target price, or a restock.
- Price history
- Yes, per store on one chart. ShopSavvy says its history goes back to 2011.
- Price
- Free with ads. ShopSavvy Pro is an optional subscription that removes ads and re-checks watched products more often.
- Best for
- Comparing big retailers, including stores near you, before you buy.
- Limitations
- It works best for products it can match across big retailers, and the free app shows ads.
PayPal Honey
PayPal Honey is mainly a coupon and rewards tool: it tests coupon codes at checkout and earns PayPal rewards at eligible stores. Its Droplist adds price tracking.
- Stores
- Stores Honey supports; it also compares Amazon sellers.
- Adding items
- Save an item to your Droplist from the browser extension or app.
- Alerts
- A notification if a Droplist item’s price drops.
- Price history
- Its listing mentions price history tools alongside Amazon seller comparison.
- Price
- Free.
- Best for
- People who want coupons and rewards first and price alerts second.
- Limitations
- Price tracking is a side feature, and it only works at stores Honey supports.

Capital One Shopping
Capital One Shopping is a free coupon, rewards and price comparison tool. You don’t need a Capital One bank account or card to use it.
- Stores
- The retailers it compares, including Amazon.
- Adding items
- Its browser extension (including a Safari extension) or its app.
- Alerts
- A notification when an item you want goes on sale or is found elsewhere for less.
- Price history
- Its App Store listing does not describe a price history chart.
- Price
- Free.
- Best for
- Shoppers who want automatic coupons and a better-price check at checkout.
- Limitations
- Price alerts are one feature among many, and the app is built around its own rewards program.
PriceNotify

- Stores
- Amazon.
- Adding items
- Add products, or import your Amazon wishlist.

- Price drops by push notification, or by email with an account.
- Price history
- For many products, according to its listing.
- Price
- Free to download; check the App Store for any in-app purchases.

- People who keep an Amazon wishlist and want alerts on it.
- Limitations
- Amazon only.
BigBangPrice

- Stores
- Amazon.
- Adding items
- Add Amazon products, or scan a barcode in a store.
- Alerts
- Push notifications when a price drops.
- Price history
- Yes, according to its listing.
- Price
- Free to download; check the App Store for any in-app purchases.
- Best for
- Amazon shoppers who want price alerts and coupons in one app.
- Limitations
- Amazon only.
Which one should you use?
If nearly everything you buy comes from Amazon, start with a free Amazon tracker: Keepa for the deepest history, camelcamelcamel for simple email alerts. If you buy from many stores, an Amazon-only tool will miss most of your list; that is the gap PricePing was built for. If you mostly want to save at checkout rather than wait for a drop, PayPal Honey or Capital One Shopping fit better. Nothing stops you from using two: an Amazon tracker for Amazon, and PricePing for everything else.
