Disclosure: PricePing makes this page. We have tried to be fair to PayPal Honey, which does several things PricePing does not. Facts about Honey come from its App Store listing, its website, its help center and PayPal’s own guide (see Sources); check them before you choose.
The short answer
Use Honey if you mainly want coupon codes and rewards when you check out, and an occasional price alert is a bonus. It is free. Use PricePing if what you want is to wait for the right price: one list of products from many stores (fashion, sportswear, Shopify brands, regional stores like Noon and Namshi), each with its own alert, on your iPhone.

Who Honey is for
PayPal Honey is a shopping assistant from PayPal. Its main job happens at checkout: it tests available coupon codes and applies the ones that work, and at eligible stores it adds PayPal Rewards points you can redeem through PayPal. Droplist is its price tracker. On a computer you open Honey on a product page and choose Add to Droplist, pick how long to watch it and how big a drop you want to hear about, and Honey emails you if it sees that drop. On Amazon it can also show price history and compare sellers, including shipping.
Who PricePing is for
PricePing is for people who know what they want and are waiting for a better price. You share a product link to the app from Safari or any shopping app (or paste it), and PricePing reads the price from the store’s own page, in the store’s own currency. It has read prices from Amazon, Nike, Zara, Uniqlo, Lululemon, Allbirds, Gymshark, Noon, Namshi and Shopify shops. You choose an alert for each product: any drop, a drop below your target price, or a percentage drop. Every product is checked at least once a day, and its price history builds from the day you add it.

PricePing’s limits, honestly
- It is a subscription with no free tier. Monthly plans start with a 7-day free trial; yearly plans don’t have one.
- It is iPhone only for now. Android is in testing.
- Price history starts when you add a product. It can’t show what the price was last year.
- Prices are checked at least once a day, not every second, so alerts are not instant.
- It does not find coupons or give cashback.
Questions
Is PayPal Honey a price tracker?
Partly. Honey is mainly a coupon and rewards tool: it tests coupon codes at checkout and adds PayPal Rewards at eligible stores. Its Droplist feature tracks the price of items you save and emails you when the price drops by the amount you choose.
Does Honey still have Droplist?
Yes. As of October 2026, Honey's help center and its App Store listing both describe Droplist. Its help center also says Droplist is not available on every site, and not in the Honey mobile Safari extension.
Is PayPal Honey free?
Yes, Honey is free to use. Its App Store listing says merchants may pay Honey affiliate commissions, which it shares with users as rewards.
Does PricePing find coupons?
No. PricePing only watches prices and tells you when they drop. If you want coupon codes tried at checkout, Honey does that and PricePing does not.
Can I use Honey and PricePing together?
Yes. They do different jobs: PricePing watches the products you want across many stores and tells you when the price drops, and Honey can look for a coupon when you check out.
