Disclosure: PricePing makes this page. We have tried to be fair to Keepa, which is the better choice for many Amazon shoppers. Facts about Keepa come from its App Store listing and website (see Sources); check them before you subscribe to either app.
The short answer
Use Keepa if you mostly buy on Amazon and want to see years of price history, or if you sell on Amazon. Use PricePing if what you want to buy is spread across many stores (fashion, sportswear, Shopify brands, regional stores like Noon and Namshi) and you want one list and one kind of alert for all of it on your iPhone.

Who Keepa is for
Keepa is built around Amazon’s catalog. Its app and browser extension put a detailed price-history chart on Amazon products, covering new, used and Warehouse Deals prices, and let you zoom out across years. On top of that it shows sales rank, Buy Box and offer data, which is why Amazon sellers use it as much as shoppers do. You can set a target price and get alerted when it is reached or when an item is back in stock.
Who PricePing is for
PricePing is for people whose wishlist isn’t only on Amazon. You share a product link to the app from Safari or any shopping app (or paste it), and PricePing reads the price from the store’s own page, in the store’s own currency. It has read prices from Amazon, Nike, Zara, Uniqlo, Lululemon, Allbirds, Gymshark, Noon, Namshi and Shopify shops. You choose an alert for each product: any drop, a drop below your target price, or a percentage drop. Every product is checked at least once a day, and its price history builds from the day you add it.
When to use Keepa
- Almost everything you buy is on Amazon.
- You want to know whether today’s Amazon “deal” is really low by looking at years of past prices.
- You sell on Amazon and need sales rank or Buy Box history.
- You want a free tool and don’t mind an Amazon-only list.
When to use PricePing
- You want to track products from many stores, including ones Keepa does not cover.
- You find things in shopping apps and browsers on your phone and want to track them with one share.
- You want alerts for a target price or a percentage drop, per product.
- You shop in more than one currency or country.
PricePing’s limits, honestly
- It is a subscription with no free tier. Monthly plans start with a 7-day free trial; yearly plans don’t have one.
- It is iPhone only for now. Android is in testing.
- Price history starts when you add a product. It can’t show what the price was last year.
- Prices are checked at least once a day, not every second, so alerts are not instant.
Questions
Is Keepa better than PricePing?
For Amazon, yes in one important way: Keepa has years of Amazon price history and seller data that PricePing does not have. PricePing is the better fit when the things you want to buy are spread across many stores, because Keepa only covers Amazon.
Does Keepa work with stores other than Amazon?
No. Keepa is an Amazon price tracker. Its App Store listing names 11 Amazon marketplaces and no other stores.
Does PricePing work with Amazon?
Yes. Amazon is one of the stores PricePing has read prices from. Share or paste the Amazon product link like any other. It is checked at least once a day, like every other product.
Can PricePing show a product's price before I started tracking it?
No. PricePing's price history starts on the day you add a product and grows with every check. If you need an Amazon product's past prices, Keepa or camelcamelcamel can show them.
Can I use Keepa and PricePing together?
Yes. A common setup is Keepa for Amazon research and PricePing for everything you want to buy from other stores, all in one list on your iPhone.
