The short answer
To track an Amazon price on iPhone, open the product in the Amazon app or Safari, tap Share, and send it to a price tracker app. With PricePing, the iPhone price tracker app, you then pick an alert (any drop, below a price, or a percentage drop) and get a push notification when a check finds a drop that matches. It works with Amazon stores in many countries, in each store’s own currency, and with other stores in the same list.
How to track an Amazon price with PricePing
- Install PricePing from the App Store and allow notifications when it asks, so the ping can reach you.
- Open the Amazon product page in the Amazon app or in Safari.
- Tap Share and choose PricePing. The product goes into your Watching list. You can also copy the link and paste it in PricePing.
- Choose an alert: Any drop, Below a price, or a % drop.
- When the ping comes, open the product to see its price history, then buy on Amazon as usual.
Amazon in many countries
PricePing works with Amazon stores in many countries, including Amazon.com in the US, Amazon.co.uk, Amazon.ca, Amazon.de, Amazon.fr, Amazon.it, Amazon.es, Amazon.co.jp, Amazon.in, Amazon.com.au, Amazon.ae and Amazon.sa. Each product shows its price in that store’s own currency. PricePing also shows when an Amazon product sells out or comes back in stock.
Which alert to pick for Amazon
- Below a price when you already know what you would pay. Set it a little under today’s price, and you hear nothing until it is worth buying.
- % drop when you want a real sale rather than a small wobble. A 15 or 20% rule stays quiet through small moves.
- Any drop for something you will buy soon anyway and just want at its lowest.
